Master of Arts in International Politics (Advanced Seminars and Shorter Thesis)
This program aims to equip graduates with the skills to analyse and assess theoretical and thematic approaches to International Politics in relation to issues of governance and conflict; globalization, migration and media; regional imperatives and priorities; and cultures and societies. It also equips graduates with relevant skills in the conduct of an independent research project through the completion of a thesis.
Master of Arts in Policy Studies (Advanced Seminar & Shorter Thesis)
This program allows students to combine coursework with extensive independent research in policy studies. Students will produce a work of original research that reveals an awareness of the latest research and theoretical directions within their chosen sub-discipline of policy studies.
Master of Arts in Political Science (thesis only)
The masters degree is designed for students to develop advanced skills in carrying out independent and sustained research in political science. The thesis should demonstrate a critical application of specialist knowledge and make an independent contribution to existing scholarship in the area of research. Candidates may advance to the Doctor of Philosophy degree after successful completion of the masters or may apply to convert to the PhD at an earlier stage. An honours grade of at least H2B (70%) must be attained to qualify for the award of the masters degree.
